Twente’s Wheel Chair Event in Delden is yearly organized by the Twentse Sportbelangen Foundation (STS). The event covers four days and the first edition took place in 1986 which was actuated by the fact that wheelers could not participate in the Walking Event of Nijmegen and that of Apeldoorn.
In the eighties the number of participants was not high. In the nineties there was not only interest from people nearby, but the event got nationally known. In the meantime participants come from abroad and The Twentse Rolstoelvierdaagse is internationally known. 
Every year the Twentse Rolstoelvierdaagse takes place in the last full week of July. On Monday evening 27 July 2008 a race is held in the centre of Delden. This year the event itself is from 28 till 31 July. Daily start and finish are at the sports centre in Delden. We hope to welcome new participants and old friends during the 23st edition.
